How to Get the Fortnite Shop Token

Step 1: Open chests in Battle Royale

The token only drops in Battle Royale during the Treasure Hunters mini season (November 1 to December 5, 2026). There’s no special chest to track down. Treasure Hunters reskinned the regular chests on Crossbones Isle as treasure chests, and each one you open can roll a Treasure Hunt prize on top of its normal loot.

Most of those prizes are Gizmos, like the Sprite Locator or the Portable Extractor. Some are cosmetics. Right at the top of the pool sits Pirate Shop Access. Nothing about a chest tells you in advance whether it’s the one, so the whole game is volume: more chests, more rolls.

A few things help you open more per match:

• Land hot on chests, not on players. Arlong Park and Lantern Landing are the go-to drops because they pack lots of chests into a small area. Our Fortnite shop token locations page lists the rest.
• Rotate through the next POI. From Arlong Park or Lantern Landing you can run down to Windmill Village and Loguetown. Guides say a quick player can open 50+ chests in a game; 20 to 40 is more realistic if you’re fighting.
• Come back later. The mini season notes say chests refill over time, so an emptied building can be worth a second sweep.

Step 2: Play in a squad

Multiple outlets, including VICE and GamesRadar, report that when one player finds Pirate Shop Access, everyone in the party gets it too. The in-game text doesn’t say this outright, so treat it as strongly reported rather than official. Either way, squads can’t hurt: four people opening chests is four times the rolls, and if sharing works the way players describe, one lucky chest covers the whole team.

Step 3: Recognise the winning chest

You won’t miss it. The chest glows and shakes for a few seconds, then bursts gold, and a YOU FOUND PIRATE SHOP ACCESS banner appears across your screen. After the match, a reward screen in the lobby confirms you’ve received two tokens: Pirate Shop Access (2026) and Pirate Shop Access (2027).

Step 4: Activate it from the Item Shop

The 14-day timer starts when you activate, not when you find the token, so hold off until the shop has stuff you want.

1. Go back to the lobby and open the Item Shop.
2. Select Plunder the Item Shop (bottom-right corner).
3. Choose Activate Now.
4. Check the shop every day for the next 14 days and claim anything priced in V-Bucks you don’t already own.

The 2026 token must be activated by December 15, 2026 at 6 p.m. GMT-6. If you miss that, it expires, but the 2027 token stays valid on its own schedule. Run the checklist under this section before you press the button.
